Chessapeake Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 8, 2026

This policy describes the planned privacy behavior for Chessapeake. It should be reviewed before App Store submission and updated if analytics, accounts, cloud sync, crash reporting, or other third-party services are added.

Overview

Chessapeake is designed as a privacy-respecting chess opponent and coaching app. The app focuses on local gameplay, local review, skill practice, and optional App Store purchases. We do not sell personal information.

Information Chessapeake may store on your device

Chessapeake may save app data locally so the experience works across sessions, including:

This gameplay and learning data is intended to stay on your device unless you choose to share it through iOS sharing features or a future sync feature is added and disclosed.

Purchases

Chessapeake Plus and other purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple may provide purchase status information to the app so Chessapeake can unlock purchased features. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Support emails

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, app version, device details, PGN, FEN, or crash description. We use that information to respond to you and improve Chessapeake.

Analytics and tracking

Chessapeake is intended to avoid third-party advertising trackers. If product analytics or crash reporting are added in the future, this policy and App Store privacy disclosures should be updated before release.

Children and families

Chessapeake is a general-audience chess app. It is not designed to collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians who believe a child has sent personal information through support can contact us to request deletion.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only when needed to operate support, comply with law, protect the app, or process purchases through Apple services.

Deleting data

You can delete locally stored Chessapeake data by removing the app from your device. For support email deletion requests, contact dseppi@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Chessapeake changes. When we do, we will update the effective date above.
