This policy explains how SepCalc handles information across its iPhone app, Apple Watch companion, widgets, extensions, websites, support, and optional connected services.

Short version: SepCalc does not operate an account service and does not silently upload your calculations, documents, scripts, or usage telemetry. Data you create is stored locally unless you export it, share it, or explicitly use a configured external service.

1. Scope and provider
SepCalc is provided by David Seppi (“SepCalc,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to the SepCalc app and companion components, this website, and support communications. It does not govern Apple or an external service you independently configure or visit.

SepCalc does not use this information for third-party advertising, does not sell it, and does not track you across apps or websites. The shipping privacy manifests declare tracking disabled and no developer collection by default. If future features change those practices, we will update this policy and the App Store disclosures before release.
3. Device permissions
SepCalc requests a protected permission only when you choose a relevant feature. You may deny or later revoke access in system Settings; unrelated calculator features remain available.
- Microphone: voice or dictation input and supported acoustic measurement.
- Camera: scanning or importing supported visual information.
- Location while using the app: location-dependent calculations or measurement provenance you request.
- Motion and fitness sensors: sensor-based laboratory measurements you start.
- Bluetooth: supported nearby laboratory instruments or accessories you choose to connect.
- Files and sharing: importing, exporting, or sharing a document you select.
Apple controls permission prompts and may process dictation, Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, widgets, and system sharing under Apple’s privacy terms.
4. Optional connected data and cloud intelligence
Connected data
You may configure a licensed market-data or other HTTPS provider. SepCalc sends the query needed to fulfill your explicit refresh and stores a source-aware snapshot locally. Provider identity, license, and attribution are shown where applicable. SepCalc does not silently refresh or replace frozen records.
Cloud intelligence
Core interpretation and deterministic calculation remain local. Optional larger-model workflows are off by default and require an eligible purchase, a configured provider, cloud consent, an approved purpose, and a retention choice. Before transmission, you may exclude document text and enable redaction for email addresses, phone numbers, account identifiers, and currency values. SepCalc sends requests over HTTPS and validates the configured provider’s response. A zero-retention selection requires the provider to attest to that behavior.
The external provider processes submitted information under its own policy and your arrangement with it. Review that policy, retention terms, and any applicable organization license before enabling the service. Do not submit information you lack authority to share. You can revoke SepCalc’s cloud consent at any time; revocation stops future transmission but cannot retract information already received by a provider.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes downloads, payments, refunds, subscription status, and transaction history. SepCalc receives signed entitlement and transaction information needed to unlock SepCalc Pro, restore purchases, and determine whether Intelligence is active. We do not receive your complete payment-card information. Apple handles this information under the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. Support and this website
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, attachments, and optional diagnostic details. We ask for app/build version, device and OS, language/region, workspace, capability, and reproduction steps—not calculation content by default. Email providers process communications as necessary to deliver them.
These static GitHub-hosted pages do not contain SepCalc analytics, advertising pixels, cookies, account sign-in, or forms. GitHub may process ordinary hosting logs and technical information under GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
7. When information may be disclosed
We disclose information only: (a) at your direction, such as an export, share, provider request, or support email; (b) to service providers necessary to fulfill that direction; (c) to comply with valid legal obligations or protect rights, safety, and security; or (d) as part of a business transfer, with notice and protections required by law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Retention and deletion
- Local work: retained until you delete the item, reset the relevant workspace, or remove SepCalc and its companion components.
- Consent and connected records: retained locally until reset or deleted using SepCalc’s privacy/data-lifecycle controls or by removing the app.
- Support email: retained only as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations; then deleted or de-identified.
- Apple purchases: retained by Apple under Apple’s policy and legal obligations.
- External providers: retained according to your selected setting, provider attestation, and the provider’s policy. Direct deletion requests may need to be made to that provider.
Deleting an app may not delete a document you separately exported to Files, a shared copy, an Apple transaction record, a support email, or data already sent to an external provider.
9. Security
SepCalc uses platform sandboxing, file protection for sensitive consent state, HTTPS for configured remote transports, bounded inputs and outputs, verified App Store transactions, permission gates, and local execution by default. No system is perfectly secure. Protect device credentials, review scripts and packages before running them, and avoid placing secrets in calculations or support messages.
10. Children and education
SepCalc is a general-purpose tool and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly operate an account service or collect personal information from children. Schools, guardians, and users must configure devices, permissions, connected providers, and classroom or exam policies appropriately. If you believe a child sent personal information to support, contact us so we can review and delete it as required.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or export personal information, and to appeal or complain to a regulator. Most SepCalc content is local and can be viewed, exported, or deleted directly by you. You may also:
- change protected-resource access in system Settings;
- revoke cloud consent or disable individual purposes and document inclusion;
- delete connected data and locally stored snapshots;
- manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple; and
- email dseppi@gmail.com with “SepCalc Privacy Request” and specify access, correction, deletion, or export.
We may request reasonable verification before acting on a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. Because SepCalc has no developer account system, we may have no server-side user record to locate beyond communications you sent us.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as SepCalc or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively.
